Last spring, I got interested in fashion for the first time in my life. I started sewing some clothes, (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), and reading some blogs, (1, 2, 3, 4) and pretty soon I had a growing fascination with pretty clothes. And a growing pile of them in my closet.
And a whopping dilemma.
You see, when it comes to dress, I have two modes. For the purposes of this blog, we'll call these modes The Happy Slob, and Dressed Up. One involves cordoroys, bandannas, and hiking boots, and one involves pretty skirts and sometimes-high heels. And ne'er ye twain shall meet, let me tell you. Between The Slob and Dressed Up, there is not a lot of common ground. Add to the problem that I work not in a classroom or office, but in a little old lady's house, and matters only get worse. My work situation is, to me, the perfect open invitation to wallow in Slob-dom, emerging in pretty clothes only on weekends.
And what would the point be, exactly, of having an interest in pretty clothes if you only get to wear them two days out of seven?
Enter Whatcha Wearing Wednesday. Enough said.
Tank: Anthropologie
Jeans: JC Penney
Shoes: Thrifted
Necklace: from The Black Apple
There. I've joined a bloggy bandwagon, my clothes are getting some fresh air, and I feel pretty. Darn good for a Wednesday.
Anyone else have a Fashion Manifesto they'd like to share?

I love daily wears! They're so much fun to do and I love seeing what everyone else is wearing.. and I'm trying to do remember to mine more often!
You might also like my friend Whitney's daily wears on www.darlingdexter.com -- she has a great sense of style too!
Yay for WWW! You look so cute - I think grey cardigans are the perfect wardrobe item.
Gray cardigans ARE perfect-- only, imo, to be outdone by brown cardigans.
you are too funny! i work in a classroom, where i could be a slob if i wanted to ... but mostly i just wear a "vintage poetic" style (one coined by my very best friend) .... vintage skirts and dresses, with leggings underneath if it's winter, and knee high socks, and cowboy boots. in summer, i live in my j-41 shoes. they are vegan. my style is pretty but cozy/home-y ... laura ingalls style mayhaps. and on the days i wear jeans i always wear a floraly top in a vintage pattern and a vintage sweater with embroidered flowers or something on it. so ... cute but soooooo low maintenance when it comes right down to it.
I just posted about this same thing! I like to dress very up and very down--nothing feels as great as pulling on baggy pajama pants after wearing a skirt all day. I'm so glad I found your blog, by the way!
