Weekend, in five pictures

Starting with boxes:

Covering up:

Cutting:
Making progress:

Sleeping here:
For the time being, our bedroom is populated by sawdust, slightly terrified cats, and the slow progression of copper-colored flooring across the room. It's been a long time coming, but oh, our new bedroom floor is on its way! More pictures to come when the project is finished. Hopefully, that'll be next weekend.

Incidentally, sleeping sandwiched between two sleeping bags on the foldout is pretty darn comfortable!
Where did the weekend take you?

Oooh, I love the color of the wood that is going in. I hope you get back to your "new" bedroom in no time!

Oh wow, the floor looks so nice. I agree with Katherine Mary - the fold out looks super cuddly! I didn't do anything nearly as productive this weekend.

(PS - the word verification on this comment is "foodies." Love it!)

I've fallen in love with my foldout! Though we could be sleeping in our own bed by now, I've prolonged our stay on the foldout because it's just so darn fun. And a little bit novel, too. Thanks for your comments!

Enjoy foldout fun while you are young! We old folks got rid of the foldout and the futon.

Your floor looks amazing! So cool y'all can do it yourselves.

hi, kristina! this is totally off-topic but i was wondering if you could email me some advice on what to do with my new panini-maker, since i believe you have one? what kind of bread do you use? i was thinking foccaccia might work well ... mmm ... homemade foccaccia ... you are always so helpful, so i thought it might be worth a try ... and by the way, my parents got me ALL the sewing stuff you recommended for beginners! so all i need's a table and i'm ready to sew! my email for the panini advice is karbear1103@yahoo.com

thanks and keep up the great blog, i love reading it! you are my inspiration for short, near-daily posts ... the ones i seem to have so much trouble with!
