A Sunday hike

I'd begun to lose hope that we'd get another day like this. October was unusually cold, dark, and rainy in these parts (this seems to be the theme for the year...), and once we got past mid-month, I'd about given up hope for a sunny reprise, a bit of indian summer.

Thank goodness, a bright and warmish fall day. A day for a hike.
Hooray for state parks. And for October sunshine, and wizened witch hazel flowers, and for geese.

And appropriately Halloween-ish fungi.

And fearless determined log-walking terriers.

And peaceful car rides homeward.

Ummm, is that Diesel seatbelted in in that last pic? Cause if he is actually seatbelted...I love it. And you need to tell me how you did that without having him chew through the seatbelt. Cause Max did that. I swear. Not good times.

Yes, he is seatbelted. Patrick always buckles him in--isn't that cute? Whenever Diesel's in the car, he's wayyy too into yipping and snorting in excitement... or wayyy too into sun-pooch exhaustion to chew on the seatbelt.

Very purdy pictures!!

I love that Diesel is buckled too. Long ago I found a special harness for bucking up our Petey the Boston Terrier. He loves riding in the car!
