Rapture.

The green glass juicer I've wanted all my life, waiting for me to come get it.

Some very special buttons.
Delicate silk embroidered flowers on some little girl's fancy collar.
Spidery fountain pen script, and faded scenes of Binghamton's past.
Wondering about the other hands and lives these things have known, driving with my husband through a peaceful, rainy Sunday.

I hope your weekends were full of happy little surprises.

Hi - thanks for stopping by my blog :)

That is a lovely juicer and I am also fascinated by old postcards - they hark back to a time when communication was slower and I think a lot of love was often put into the script.

Dottyspots-- that's the perfect way to put it. There was a lot more time and energy put into communcation back then.

Did you find those thrifting?! Wow. I covet that red button with the raised flower design. And your juicer. I'm a sucker for colored glass.

Melissa-- I actually all my treasures at a couple of antique stores. I wish I'd been able to score them at Salvation Army, but alas, those windfalls only happen to other people. I love colored glass too, especially green.

Thereddeer-- here here! I'm about at the point where I have to give my vintage button collection its own drawer. Nothing like dumping out a jar and rummaging for the special ones.

Toni-- thanks for the kudos! I'll have to check out RVA, thanks.

Christy in OH-- Thanks! I'm learning more about my new camera every day.

ChristyACB-- Ha, don't worry. Our house now has a check-large-bags-at-the-door rule. ;)

I should post a photo of the cool bromide geisha postcard I found in Kyoto while antique hunting one day - from 1916! Everyone seems to be postcard crazy right now ^^ I love ephemera - portable history!

Postcards are great-- they carry so much meaning and history, considering their size. And, you can have tons and tons of old postcards, and they'll only take up a shoebox. Which is good for people like us, yes?
