This was the scene in our dining room this morning: an extremely excited and proud Pete-cat strutting about on the floor, and an ever-so-scared effete little mouse perched on the curtain rod. Unfortunately, we had to disappoint the cat by gently herding the mouse into a glass vase and releasing him outside. I'm pretty sure Pete is at home right now, sitting on a chair and gazing fixedly at the spot where the mouse was, just a few short hours ago. Where did it go, where did it go? My breakfast mouse! Gone?
Ah, life.

OMG! It's so cute. Just hanging out on the curtain with his little ears. Poor Pete! Our kitties bark at the chipmunks they see out of the window in our backyard.
eek, yes i can picture pete at home staring at that curtain rod. because cats are clever like that:) hope your unwelcome visitor doesnt come back (after looking into peteys feasty little eyes im sure he wont in a hurry!!)
Awww, so glad y'all could rescue the mousey! Poor Pete.
Well done for rescuing him! How did it get up there?!
I'm relieved to report that Pete apparently has no lingering trama from yesterday's mouse incident. The beauty of being a cat, I suppose.
Lisa-Marie, I would have to assume the mouse climbed right up the curtain onto the rod-- dexterous little fellow.
